What to expect at the Carnon Stage Race!

Saturday 27th May & Sunday 28th May Penzance Wheelers and Wheal Velocity are running a very special 2 day cycle stage race - comprising of 3 stages

Saturday 27th we will be running stage 1 at the Wheal Jane closed circuit.

Entry via British Cycling website (once accepted you’ll receive an email link to enter stages 2 & 3 via the Penzance Wheelers Eventbrite page

Races for:

  • Youth E, D, C

  • Youth A & B

  • Junior

  • Mens 2/3/4 categories race

  • Womens 2/3/4 categories race

  • To encourage new riders we will also run a goride race (for adult riders) over the same distance as the Mens and Womens races.

Sunday 28th May we will be running stages 2 & 3 based around the Carnon Downs village.

  • Stage 2 will be a 1 mile hill climb

  • Stage 3 will be a 9 mile individual time trial

Stages 2 & 3 will be for youth A/B, Men and Womens categories (as per the BC 1st stage)

We will also run closed circuit racing (on a small circuit in Carnon Downs) for youth E/D/C categories

On Sunday 28th May we will have a range of mobile refreshment vans (Ice Cream & Pizza booked already) plus the local community will be offering refreshments from the church hall.

We also plan to run some fun events on the closed circuit in Carnon Downs.

We also now have a programme of school games on Sunday 28th May
