Paul Hill

The Wheelers’ equivalent to the hill in suburban Brighton they used to use in the Wincanton Classic. Houses on both sides, steep, and you’ll probably try to be first to the top. Strangely, better going up than coming down, which you certainly can’t say about every hill. Though that didn’t stop the Milk Race in 1989, where legend has it riders were getting air on the bridge over Coombe river at the bottom. Best not to try that.
